Kotlina Kłodzka with Kids — Plan for a Rainy Weekend

Kotlina Kłodzka is one of the most beautiful regions of Lower Silesia, but mountain weather can be unpredictable. A rainy weekend does not have to mean boredom, though — you will find plenty of attractions nearby that will make the kids forget it is even raining.

We have prepared a tried-and-tested plan for an entire weekend that will save any family trip.

Friday Evening — Warm-Up for a Great Start

Interactive LED Floor at LEDPlay mini

Start your weekend with something kids will love from the very first minute. The interactive LED floor in Szczytna offers over 30 movement-based games that engage the whole body. Kids run, jump, and cooperate — without even realising they are exercising.

🎮 Why start here?

  • An hour of intense fun releases post-travel energy
  • Games adapted for different age groups (from age 3)
  • Perfect warm-up before a weekend marathon of attractions
  • Online booking — no waiting on site

Saturday — A Day of Discovery

Morning: Mineralogy Museum in Kudowa-Zdrój

Just a 20-minute drive from Szczytna. Children will see crystals, minerals, and fossils from around the world. Exhibits can be touched — a rarity in museums!

Visit time: approx. 1–1.5 hours

Midday: Kłodzko Fortress

One of the largest fortresses in Poland. Underground corridors, tunnels, and casemates make for a real adventure for little explorers. Even in rain, most of the route is indoors.

Tip: Bring torches — kids love exploring the dark passages on their own.

Afternoon: Indoor Pool or Aquapark

Several indoor pools with water attractions can be found nearby. This is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon — kids have a blast while parents can relax in the jacuzzi.

Sunday — A Calmer Day

Morning: Ceramic or Art Workshops

Many local studios offer workshops for children and adults. Painting on ceramics, clay modelling, or jewellery making — a great souvenir from the trip.

Midday: Bear Cave in Kletno

Even if it is pouring outside, the cave is dry (and warm — constant temperature of about 6°C). The tourist route is approx. 700 metres and is accessible for children from about age 4.

Visit time: approx. 45 minutes (guided)

To Finish: Return to LEDPlay mini

If the kids still have energy (and they usually do!), end the weekend with another session on the interactive LED floor. New games, new challenges — it is different every time.

Practical Tips for a Rainy Weekend

  1. Book attractions in advance — indoor venues fill up faster on rainy days
  2. Bring spare clothes — kids will find puddles anyway
  3. Flexible plan — do not schedule too much in one day, leave time for spontaneous discoveries
  4. Snacks in the car — a hungry child is an unhappy child
  5. Board games for the evening — the perfect complement to an active day

Summary

Kotlina Kłodzka with kids on a rainy weekend? No problem at all! The region offers so many indoor attractions that the weather becomes secondary. From interactive fun on an LED floor to underground fortresses, caves, and workshops — every day can be full of adventure.
